About the Adam Herold Legacy Foundation.
The Foundation was established following the tragic Humbolt Bus Crash on April 6, 2018. Adam Herold was the youngest person on the bus to lose his life that day. The Herold family, along with close friends and relatives wanted to continue Adam’s legacy following the accident.
Adam was a tremendous athlete and leader on his teams and in the community. He was born and raised in Montmartre, Saskatchewan, a small rural community southeast of Regina.
The family believed rural children did not necessarily receive the same opportunities as urban children and as such the Foundation focuses on 3 rural communities per year.
The Foundation organizes 3 days of professional instruction on Hockey, Leadership, Team Building, and Exercise. The chosen communities are not required to pay for the 3-day camps but are asked to fundraise to “pay it forward” to the next community. Other funding for the professional instructors come from corporate donations such as Ritchie Bros. and individual donations. To date, 19 rural communities have been served.
